Since November 2, 2024, Mr.Abala Wang’a has been in Cairo, Egypt, representing Kisumu at two critical global events on urban quality and development: the Global Conference of the Quality of Life Initiative, which concluded on November 4, and the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF), hosted by UN-Habitat and the Government of Egypt. The theme of WUF12, “It Starts at Home,” emphasizes the vital role of urban planning as the foundation of thriving societies. With Kenya represented by Kisumu and other counties, His participation in these forums strengthens our commitment to sustainable urban development.
The insights and partnerships forged here will be instrumental in improving the quality of life for Kisumu residents, helping us create a more resilient, inclusive, and well-planned city.
