Kisumu City welcomed a multisectoral technical team from the World Bank in partnership with the Council of Governors and the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP) National Program Coordination Team. This team is actively engaged in developing an Urban Service Delivery Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Handbook under the Quality Infrastructure Investment (QII) Trust Fund as part of the implementation of the Second Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP 2).
The QII Trust Fund aims to enhance urban service delivery and promote sustainable infrastructure development across Kenyan municipalities. In collaboration with Kisumu County, the team’s mission is to create a robust M&E framework that will align with the County Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System (CIMES). This handbook will be essential in measuring and evaluating urban service delivery improvements under KUSP 2, ensuring quality infrastructure investments across the region.
The visit to Ahero Municipality and Kisumu City marks a significant step in the preparatory phase for the M&E Handbook, focusing on understanding local needs and infrastructure dynamics. This engagement is part of the broader objective of empowering Kisumu’s urban landscape with enhanced monitoring tools that drive impactful, sustainable development.
Stay tuned for more updates as KUSP 2 progresses, strengthening the city’s commitment to inclusive urban growth and sustainable infrastructure.
