Kisumu took a historic stride toward deepening access to justice and judicial reforms today as the City Manager Abala Wanga, together with Kisumu Law Courts Chief Magistrate Hon Dickson Onyango officially opened the Kisumu City Law Courts. Also present during the ceremony were the new City Court Magistrate Hon Valery Adhiambo and Kisumu Courts Administrator Noel Otieno. The Court begins, hearing matters immediately.
All city-related cases ranging from parking, land rates, to hawking will henceforth be handled in the judicial court following the transition.
The newly launched City Court aims to consolidate and streamline tribunal operations, housing bodies such as the Rent Restriction Tribunal, the Business Premises Rent Tribunal, and others under one roof.
