The Caucus of City and Municipal Managers Kenya (CCMMK) successfully concluded a pivotal two-day Executive Retreat in Kisumu, marked by renewed commitment to strategic urban governance and institutional sustainability.
Speaking in his capacity as Chairperson of CCMMK, Mr.Abala Wanga described the retreat as “a significant step forward in strengthening our collective leadership and aligning our priorities to the future needs of urban Kenya.” The forum brought together key members of the executive committee to engage in critical discussions aimed at enhancing coordination, strategic leadership, and sustainable resource management.






Day 2 of the retreat was especially transformative, focusing on:
- Clarifying and redefining leadership roles within the organization
- Amplifying CCMMK’s influence on national urban policy conversations
- Formally adopting the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Workplan and a suite of key organizational resolutions
The retreat was graced by executive members including:

- Nick Mbwika, Council of Governors Representative
