City of Kisumu today played host to a delegation of Chinese Investors from Yiyang’ City, Hunan Province in China that was led by Tin Yinjie a Deputy Director from Yiyang’ municipal Bureau of Commerce. The delegation first met with Governor of Kisumu and County top leadership before signing a memorandum of understanding that will see the Chinese partner in urban development, waste and sewerage treatment, affordable housing, security surveillance projects and solar energy.
The delegation, which included senior officials and business leaders from Yiyang’s municipal government and state-owned enterprises, aims to engage with the County’s leadership to discuss and explore partnerships in the mentioned sectors.
The delegation toured affordable housing projects in NSSF grounds, Anderson and Makasembo. They later toured Kisumu Port before finalizing their tour of Kisumu with a visit to the City of Kisumu Offices where they visited the fire station and the ICT hub where security surveillance system for the entire county is being installed.
The visit is expected to lay the foundation for long-term partnerships, fostering knowledge exchange and investment opportunities aligned with Kisumu County’s vision for inclusive and sustainable growth.



Present during the function were Mama Kisumu Dorothy Nyong’o, County Secretary Hesbon Hongo, CECMs George Okong’o (Finance), Judith Oluoch (Water and Environment) Dr Konyango Charles (Lands and Urban Development), City Manager Abala Wanga, County Attorney Otieno Aluoka among other County Government of Kisumu Officers.
