Planner. Robert Rawinji, MKIP is an accomplished Urban Development Specialist with over a decade of experience in sustainable urban development projects, research, and program management.

He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning with IT. He is a Corporate Member of the Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP), a Member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), and a Member of the Kenya Green Building Society (KGBS).

Plan. Rawinji has expertise in sustainable urban development, urban finance, housing policy, stakeholder engagement, advisory services, project management, monitoring and evaluation.

Having worked with International, National and County Government entities, alongside Donor Funded Projects, Plan. Rawinji has made significant sector contributions that include the Formulation of Shelter Afrique’s Corporate Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027, Classification of Gatundu Urban Area in Kiambu County, Draft Urban Areas and Cities Regulations of 2022, and successful implementation of SymbioCity Kenya projects in seven (7) counties in Kenya. He recently completed a trainer-of-trainers Masterclass course on Urban Climate Resilience, an initiative that will empower trainers to equip County Government Leaders and their Technical Teams on how to assess urban climate risks and embed resilience in Infrastructure and Services.

Plan. Rawinji is proficient in capacity building, needs assessment, coordination, and project/ programme implementation. He also appreciates multi-disciplinary approaches and understanding of urban development challenges and the ability to foster partnerships for effective and sustainable solutions.
